2. Cookies

Our site uses “cookies” and other tracking technologies. Cookies enable us to serve secure pages to our users without asking them to sign in repeatedly. Most browsers allow you to control cookies, including whether or not to accept them and how to remove them. If a user’s system is idle for a defined time, the cookie will expire, forcing the user to sign in again to continue their session. This prevents unauthorised access to the user’s information while they are away from their computer.

You may set most browsers to notify you if you receive a cookie, or you may choose to block cookies with your browser, but please note that if you choose to erase or block your cookies, you will need to re-enter your original user ID and password to gain access to certain parts of the Site.

At any time, you may opt-in or opt-out of our email subscriptions and notifications. If you wish to change your subscriptions, or unsubscribe, you may do so at any time. In most cases, you will find an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each message, where you will have full control over your subscriptions.

We will inform you of the content of each email communications before you opt-in, so that you can make an informed choice. In most cases, when opting-in, we will send you an email to confirm that we have accurately recorded your email address. We use different email technologies for electronic communications with current students, alumni, people using our cloud platforms, and people in third party cloud tools such as accounting tools, or event registration systems. We have different policies over the use of these types of communication.

7. Transactional Emails

Transactional emails are messages that support the use of online systems. We use transactional emails in our learning platform, classroom ticketing system, student communications, cloud tools, and other online systems. If you do not wish to receive transactional emails, you can control this by deleting your account or by not using the product or service that employs transactional emails. Opting-out of transactional emails can render the systems unusable. If you do not receive emails from our learning management system, you cannot retrieve lost passwords and may lose access to the system. AlterSpark will not be responsible for any damage caused by blocking transactional emails.

8. Student and Alumni Emails

We use a separate email system for managing electronic communications with current students, alumni, and those associated with our educational services. If you wish to opt-out of these, send a request to us at the email address listed at the bottom of this Privacy Policy. Our student communications are all-or-nothing, so if you opt-out, you will never hear from us again, and may miss important alumni updates, services, and special offers. If you wish to opt-back-in, you will need to send a request by email that includes your ticket purchase number, course location, and original ordering address so we may verify your status as an alumni.
